SissyMarySue Education Fund 501 (c) (3) nonprofit awarded Damian Kinsey our Equity in Teaching Award for his exemplary work with BoysTown. It was shortly after that we were honored that he joined our Board of Directors. He brought a wealth of experience in leadership, strategic thinking and team building to our board. He mentored me as the leader, as well for which I am forever thankful to him! He has a keen mind for small and large details of an organization. His introspection offered a powerful contribution to our planning and growth. This was positivity consequential and so much appreciated! As a result of the invaluable support and leadership of Damian it brought me to tears to learn he has to move on. We at SissyMarySue Education Fund send our gratitude, love and best wishes. We wish you every happiness! Let us know if we can support your important work you do! Tristy Sparkles, my third- EMPATHY- book is coming out December 7, 2024 at our EMPATHY EXTRAVAGANZA Virtual Event. This book will be produced and offered by and for our nonprofit SissyMarySue Education Fund 501 ( c ) (3) public charity. It represents a 100 % donation to our nonprofit. This book encourages all youth to consider the career of teaching! It also responds to the disparity in education in regard to too few minority teachers, overall in the field of education. SONG for BOOK We put out song we posted on our nonprofit YouTube site -https://lnkd.in/gEvfEqjN 🎵 SPARKLE SPARKLE in 2019 that was intended for the book. Due to pandemic the launch of this book was postponed! It feels wonderful now to be able to offer it for and through our nonprofit! That is so very special!! HEAR SONG Here too! Our mini event ( 5 year Album Celebration) - This recording has many songs including: SPARKLE SPARKLE near the end of program https://lnkd.in/g-XEQK7q LEARN more about our initiatives too! Tristy Sparkles, the Teacher and Others Who Shine is a deeply personal and meaningful book to me. It’s intended for younger children to learn about empathy. It reveals people who influenced my life which I sought to honor! It carries messages of inclusion with an array of diverse children in the classroom who positively influence their friend named Tristy Sparkles! IMPORTANT ASPECTS Representation in books is of paramount importance! A teacher of color on the cover, respected and loved by her student, is important too for a variety of reasons! It is of course representation in books but it also encourages all young people to envision themselves as teachers. This encourages teachers of color -boys and girls! GROWING up in ALASKA My Friends ( Tristy Ellison and Debbie Ferrell ) became Family to me. We all grew up in Anchorage, ALASKA. Each are important like—sisters in my life still! FAMILY Tristy’s entire family ( Whitney, Johnny, John JR and Jamie ) took me on like I was in their family too!! So they’re in the book! Tristy and I met in summer before Third grade. Debbie and I met in Junior high. Honoring each friend who both had teacher moms felt so special to do! I honor Tristy/Tristan - due to her spirit and lifelong friendship that informed my life, worldview and provided a grounding as traumatic life events happened. HONORING TEACHERS Honoring teachers Mrs. Ferrell and Mrs. Ellison by including each! Debbie’s mom ( Myrtle Ferrell ) is the image used to depict teacher named Mrs. Ellison-Ferrell. Tristy and her mom both appear in book already but I chose to have her mom (Whitney Ellison) name used but not image of teacher - to still honor her teaching! This also is meant to honor all teacher’s contributions to our world! Anthony Hotakainen is a treasure! THANK YOU for all you do!! Anthony created the Album 💿 Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope after he had been in the cast of the first Musical of Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope back in late 2018! Oh and get this- he was a high school student at the time! His undeniable talent and dedication were on full display in his performances and in this self intiated project- of creating an album! Anthony came up with the wonderful idea to create a video celebration of the 5 Year Anniversary for the Album Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope! He did a great job producing it! I helped to co-produce with notes and suggestions only! He did the heavy lifting with this video with editing and so on! We are always an effective team! I am so grateful anytime we collaborate! I appreciate the leadership of Anthony! He was a director and producer of this! He asked me to share on camera in a few segments about various topics. The idea was to pick a couple sections only from what he captured. It surprised me that he chose to include more of me, than I thought would have been the case. It appears he had an eye and ear for what he wanted from the video. So I trusted his judgement on the content! Hope you like it too!! We have been humbled by positive feedback. Whew! You are in for a treat to hear the vocal gifts of Anthony in this video!! Link Below! In this video we share a couple recorded versions of songs, each sing songs from Album too and our Sparkle, Sparkle Single that is for our upcoming NEW book Tristy Sparkles we unveil at our December 7 event! Just 37 minutes of songs & commentary I share context and back story for the writing of One Child Cries and Precious Sweet Boy.
