On the afternoon of Friday Oct 4, a group of 40 student pharmacists and 12 faculty pharmacists split into small teams to blanket the community to provide education about blood pressure and to measure blood pressures. In just over 4 hours, nearly 300 people across Edwardsville had their blood pressure screened. The SOP partnered with city and county government, community organizations, law firms and other small businesses to provide what we call a “reverse health fair”, where the health fair goes to where the people are. We want to thank The Main Street Community Center, Joe’s Market Basket, RP Lumber, Sandberg Phoenix, LBBS Law Firm, Cavanagh O’Hara LLP, The Edwardsville Public Library, and Eaker’s Family Barbershop for being such great community partners. We continued the event on Saturday, October 5th, at the Goshen Market and had a great response from the public.
