Skills4EOSC and TETTRIs Join Forces to Empower Open Science Skills for Europe's Green Deal On November 6, 2024, Skills4EOSC and TETTRIs hosted the "Empowering Europe's Green Deal: Open Science Skills and Taxonomy for Sustainable Innovation" Stakeholder Lab in Brussels, welcoming a diverse group of policymakers, researchers, digital curators, and industry representatives. This engaging event highlighted the essential role of Open Science skills in supporting evidence-based decision-making and advancing biodiversity conservation, aligning with Europe’s ambitious Green Deal targets. The roundtable featured contributions from experts across various domains, emphasizing the impact of Open Science skills—particularly those tailored for digital curators—on biodiversity research and taxonomic work. Digital curators are vital in managing scientific collections, ensuring they remain accessible, interoperable, and reusable, thus enhancing research capabilities and informing policy initiatives. Through collaborative efforts, Skills4EOSC and TETTRIs showcased innovative training approaches that prepare digital curators to navigate the challenges and opportunities of Open Science, bridging the gap between scientific research and policy implementation. The event underlined the synergy between Skills4EOSC’s focus on capacity-building in Open Science and TETTRIs’ commitment to advancing taxonomic research. By jointly promoting specialized skills and training, these projects are building a knowledge ecosystem where Open Science practices empower sustainable solutions across Europe. The Stakeholder Lab provided a platform for impactful dialogue, fostering cross-sectoral partnerships that will drive future initiatives in biodiversity conservation and sustainable innovation. Skills4EOSC Course on FAIR-by-Design Methodology for the CLARIN Community Online Training – Sessions on 20 and 26 September 2024 Skills4EOSC is excited to announce a new training course on the **FAIR-by-Design Methodology** for members of the CLARIN community. This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to integrate FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles into the design and development of learning materials. Event Details  The course will be held in two separate sessions, each focusing on different aspects of the FAIR-by-Design Methodology: - Session 1: 20 September 2024, 14:00 - 18:00 CEST. Course Overview The training introduces a structured approach to embedding FAIR principles into the instructional design process, ensuring that learning materials are not only well-designed but also discoverable, accessible, and reusable by a broader audience. Participants will explore various stages of the **FAIR-by-Design workflow**, from preparation and design to publication and continuous improvement. Key Learning Objectives: - Gain a deep understanding of the FAIR-by-Design approach and how it applies to the development of learning materials. - Explore practical techniques for creating FAIR-aligned educational resources. - Discuss real-world applications of FAIR principles in training material development. Target Audience: This course is aimed at instructional designers, training workflows and infrastructure managers, and anyone in the CLARIN network involved in developing training materials. The sessions are also open to anyone with an interest in learning more about the FAIR principles. Session Details: - Session 1 (20 September): Focus on the design and development stages of FAIR training materials, including metadata, multimedia integration, and attribution practices.    - Session 2 (26 September): Emphasis on long-term curation, publication, and quality assurance, including version control and recognition frameworks like Open Badges.
