About us
For more than a decade, Sleep Savvy has been the go-to resource for mattress retailers who want to sell more and better bedding. Launched by ISPA’s Better Sleep Council in 2002, Sleep Savvy reaches nearly 24,000 mattress retailers—from single-store sleep shops to furniture and department stores to major chains—in the United States and Canada. The magazine is dedicated to helping retailers understand market trends and consumer attitudes to improve the techniques of sales associates to boost retailers’ bottom lines. Published six times a year, the magazine features successful selling ideas, product innovations, tips for helping consumers make the sleep-health-mattress connection and more. Among its most popular departments is “Retail Road Trip,” which spotlights a retailer, outlining for others the secrets to its success. The magazine’s recently redesigned website includes a searchable database of its more relevant and “evergreen” stories, as well as digital editions of the current and past issues.

The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) Statistics Committee released its forecast for the U.S. mattress market, which covers the calendar years 2024 through 2026, in late November. Based in part on the current outlook for the national economy prepared by the Research Seminar in Quantitative Economics at the University of Michigan (the Michigan Model) and input from the ISPA Statistics Committee Forecast Panel, the consensus view was that the wholesale value of the total U.S. mattress market, which includes United States produced sleep products and imports, would decrease in 2024 but increase in 2025 and 2026. For 2024, the report forecasts a 4.5% decrease in the wholesale value of mattress shipments and a 7.5% decrease in unit shipments. For 2025, the forecast predicts a 3% increase in the value of mattress shipments, while units shipped would increase by 1.5%. For 2026, the forecast anticipates a 6% increase in the value of mattress shipments and a 4% increase in unit shipments. #MattressRetail #MattressForecast #LookingForward

Paramount Sleep has kicked off a yearlong retailer giveaway to celebrate its 90th anniversary. The giveaway consists of a test rest program from February through December. Details of the program: Paramount will award two 90th anniversary model mattresses at each participating retail location each month: one for the consumer completing a test rest and one for the retail sales associate facilitating the test rest. Retailers are eligible to participate by displaying at least two of Paramount’s new 90th anniversary mattress models on their showroom floor. Participating retailers will receive a comprehensive package of benefits and marketing support, including the Paramount 90th anniversary sleep system top-of-bed display, exclusive signage, up to $2,500 in additional advertising support, a featured listing on the Paramount Sleep Co. website, comprehensive marketing materials and detailed educational resources. The names of each RSA and customer who completed the test rest will be entered into a drawing. Each retail store will submit the entries to Paramount Sleep within 10 days of each month’s end. Paramount will draw from those names and announce the winners. Paramount’s dedicated truck will deliver the mattresses to the retail store, and the retailers will handle the final customer delivery. Mattress winners may upgrade to other Paramount mattresses by paying the difference in wholesale cost, Get the rest of the scoop at SleepSavvyMagazine.com. Since 1996, the Better Sleep Council has conducted research to understand and track changes in consumer attitudes toward sleep and health, and their mattress purchasing decision-making. The BSC recently released results from a new online survey, revealing consumers’ attitudes about Valentine’s Day. Quality time is the most common love language, selected by more than one-third (35%) of US adults. The online survey was conducted from Jan. 22 to Jan. 27 and included 503 respondents ages 18 and older who are residents of the United States. Three in 10 US adults say Valentine’s Day is extremely or very important to them. Get the scoop at SleepSavvyMagazine.com.
