🚀 Big News for the #SLICES Project! 🚀 On September 10 & 11, we held our first in-person Interim Supervisory Board (ISB) meeting in Paris! 🇪🇺Representatives from 8 countries along with observers gathered to shape the future of SLICES-RI, paving the way for its establishment as an ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium). 💡 The highlight? In a unanimous vote, France application 🇫🇷 has been approved to host the Central Hub! This Hub will be home to: 🏢 The SLICES-ERIC Headquarters and The Coordination and Management Office (CMO). Great success at the Hackathon IFIP-Networking! 🎉 The SLICES-RI project is thrilled to announce the tremendous achievements at Hackathon IFIP-Networking 2024! Held on June 3rd, this event brought together researchers passionate about improving the SLICES research infrastructure. SLICES empowers researchers with cutting-edge hardware and software for #5G network experimentation. The hackathon focused on enhancing the usability of SLICES by improving its software and documentation. We'd like to acknowledge the remarkable contributions from the following participants: ➡ Apostolis Prassas (University of Thessaly) Integration of CEPH storage into the 5G blueprint by exposing CEPH volumes in the k8s clusters ➡Ippokratis Koukoulis (University of Thessaly) Use of the SLICES portal as an authentication provider for the SLICES VPN service ➡Dimitris Kefalas (University of Thessaly) Addition of the RAN-split for baremetal resources in the blueprint reference implementation (so far it was only on k8s resources) ➡Marcel Kempf (Technical University of Munich) Correction of a bug that appeared in POS resource booking calendar after POS was moved to OIDC to support SLICES portal authentication ➡Damien Saucez (Inria) Addition of RBAC to the post-5g blueprint backend using casbin Congratulations to all participants on their hard work and dedication!
