What an incredible experience at the RegTech Summit in London yesterday! Some key takeaways: Quantum Computing: We’re surprisingly close to seeing quantum computers used for real-world use cases. This brings enormous opportunities, but also significant risks—like the potential to render current cryptography obsolete. The financial industry needs to start considering this quantum future now. Generative AI & LLMs: My panel on Generative AI and Large Language Models for regulatory compliance sparked a great conversation. We discussed the vast potential across various use cases, while recognising that the risks depend heavily on how the technology is applied. Thank you to my fellow panellists Paul Barker, David More, Vall H. and Jerome Hussan, and Sarah Underwood for moderating. Communications Surveillance: Despite years of development, it's clear that many firms are still grappling with challenges in communications surveillance.
