About us
The Smart Buildings Center (SBC) is a non-profit organization that supports growth and innovation in the Northwest’s energy efficiency industry. The SBC serves as a hub for industry activities, raises the visibility of energy efficiency companies and projects, and creates resources to help industry tackle a range of important issues. One of the SBC's primary goals is to increase building owner and investor confidence in building energy projects by catalyzing the industry shift from predicted to measured energy savings. Key initiatives of the SBC include: Creating a vendor-neutral platform to help industry monitor and exhibit the performance of projects, buildings and technologies Establishing a regional partnership to evaluate innovative energy efficiency technologies under real-world conditions in operating buildings Showcasing innovative companies’ products and services Hosting industry events and programming that bring together all segments of the building energy community Working with building owners, regional leaders and policy-makers to increase confidence in energy efficiency project savings

Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level I Multifamily course helps facilities and staff advance their skill and careers in energy efficient operations of multifamily facilities. Studies show that BOC-credentialed facilities staff can significantly reduce annual utility costs. The course includes seven classes, work-site projects and open book tests.
