Earlier this month, our President and CEO, Sheri Givens, alongside our Chief Strategy Officer, Emily Sanford Fisher, and Chief of Staff, Charlene Ketchum, had an incredibly inspiring visit to Argonne National Laboratory, where they witnessed groundbreaking innovations shaping the future of clean energy. The day kicked off with an exploration of the Aurora Exascale Supercomputer, a true marvel in scientific discovery, capable of performing over a billion calculations per second. This game-changing technology is set to drive unprecedented breakthroughs across the energy sector and beyond. At the Smart Energy Plaza, they witnessed how Argonne is leading the way in green transportation and energy storage. The advancements in vehicle-to-grid interoperability and energy management strategies are prime examples of turning research into real-world solutions. The visit also highlighted Argonne’s pioneering work in scaling decarbonization technologies at the Materials Engineering Research Facility. Here, they delved into innovations in energy materials synthesis and battery recycling—advancements that are not only accelerating clean energy solutions but also ensuring these benefits reach all communities. This visit reinforced SEPA’s commitment to bridging advanced research with impactful, real-world applications. Joined by SEPA board member Melissa Washington, it was a powerful gathering of minds dedicated to advancing the clean energy transition. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Argonne team for inviting SEPA and facilitating this incredible experience. As we continue to collaborate with leaders in science and technology, we are reminded that our work is about more than just innovation—it’s about building a future where clean, reliable energy is accessible to everyone. #CleanEnergyFuture #Decarbonization
