Meet Joseph R. Rotondo and Drew DiSpirito, PMP, co-founders of Smearcase - Protein-packed Frozen Cottage Cheese — offering a healthy twist on a classic dessert, and a member of this year's cohort.
Joe and Drew founded Smearcase while training for a marathon, realizing there was a gap in the market for high-protein, nutritious ice cream. They utilized collagen to stabilize the ice cream and boost its protein content. Fun fact: 'Smearcase' is a German term for spreadable cheese, once used by Dutch settlers in the U.S. to describe cottage cheese.
In addition to founding Smearcase, Joe drives the sustainable, ethical denim brand Rocky Clark, focusing on its e-commerce strategy. Meanwhile, Drew supports the growth strategies for all Business Units at Crowe, including Consulting, Tax, and Audit.
