The ASIS Austin Chapter had another amazing meeting yesterday at HID, thanks to the generous support of Smith Protective Services. Guest speaker, Shayne Bates, provided some insightful information on security technology, its history, and where the industry is heading. This was a great event as we listened to one of our local security leaders share his experience in the security industry and with ASIS International. Special thanks to Alex Smith, who gave a short presentation about Smith Protective Services! Lic#C00217

A few weeks ago, we were asked for historical information about David E. Bergenham, who worked for Smith Detective Agency in Dallas, Texas during the 1930s. They saved his badge that bears both his and the agency's name and this is his story! Before joining Smith Detective Agency, David served with the police department and was even involved in a shootout while on duty in Texas. His adventurous spirit didn't stop there; at the onset of WWII, he left to help the British fight against the Nazis. Check out the attached photo of the badge he proudly wore during his time with us!
