We are so excited to welcome Hilary Cain from the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, Ryan McMahon from Cambridge Mobile Telematics and John E. from General Motors to the OEM Summit Stage at the SEMA Show! https://lnkd.in/eWdht2A5 Join for a focused presentation on how telematics have heralded new opportunities in the relationship between the driver, the vehicle, collision repair businesses and auto insurance providers. This session is the second of three OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit sessions, beginning at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Our panel - How Telematics Technologies Are Evolving the Consumer Experience - will delve into real ways in which automotive and consumer telematics technologies are revolutionizing the relationship between the consumer and service industries intent on setting new industry standards for safety, satisfaction, and technological integration. Telematics technology stemming from both vehicle and consumer solutions stands as a linchpin in the transformation of the consumer experience —from crash detection, onsite support, first notice of loss, damage identification, system restoration and claims processing. The session will explore the transformative impact of accident reconstruction and crash detection technologies on the consumer experience in collision repair and insurance industries. The OEM Summit takes place in the Las Vegas Convention Center as part of SCRS' contributions to SEMA Education at the 2024 SEMA Show, and offers attendees the opportunity to learn how vehicles, materials, technologies, and trends are evolving in ways that will impact repair processes and repair businesses. Register online at www.scrs.com/rde. Don't miss OEM Summit, Session I, starting at 12:30pm, on The Value of OEM Repair Information. Session I will feature Presenters David Sosa, Dan Black and Kelly Logan of Rivian as they offer a unique look into the depth and complexity that goes into developing the OEM repair information available to the collision repair industry, through a case study that will focus on the developmental life cycle of the front frame rail section concept. The 2024 OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit is currently made possible with additional support from AirPro Diagnostics, BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings, CAR-O-LINER and John Bean , CCC Intelligent Solutions, Enterprise Mobility, Reliable Automotive Equipment, Inc. and WS Wieländer+Schill GmbH & Co. We are thrilled to welcome the Rivian Research, Engineering, Service and Collision teams to the OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit (Summit) stage to present on the process an automaker undertakes to research, develop, validate and publish new repair procedures. Session I: The value of OEM repair information will be the first of three OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit sessions starting at 12:30pm on Thursday, November 7 during The SEMA Show. Visit www.scrs.com/rde to learn more, and to register for this session, or a Full Series Pass! The OEM Summit sessions offers SEMA Education attendees the opportunity to learn how vehicles, materials, technologies, and trends are evolving, in ways that will impact repair processes and repair businesses. The case study featured in this presentation will focus on the developmental life cycle of the front frame rail section concept. Through field data it was determined that the front frame rail could incur damage even in low-speed impact, and that the market would benefit from a safe, and cost-effective alternative to a complete "skateboard" replacement. Rivian embarked on an intensive validation process to develop and test solutions that would ensure the vehicle owner would receive a repair that met specific safety and performance aspects. Presented by: David Sosa, Manager, Collision Research & Development Workshop Dan Black, Sr. Manager, Service Engineering - Collision Kelly Logan, Director, 3P Service and Collision Repair Programs Audience members will gain better understanding of how automakers prioritize procedure development and timing, and how rigorous testing protocol can create greater efficiency in similar future procedure developments throughout the vehicle. The panel will give a unique overview of testing methodology, in many cases mirroring the protocol used in the manufacturing process, and will depict the timeline of approval with unique visual examples. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of the consequences of improper repairs, and the process to validate the outcome of misplaced welds, incorrect cut or section locations, and effect on non-visible structural aspects of the vehicle. "This session is the epitome of what the OEM Summit was designed to accomplish for the industry," shared SCRS Chairman, Amber Alley. "We’ve always worked hard to bring presenters and content that provides the repair industry with insight into leading-edge developments in repair. This team and the case study they have to share with the industry are testaments to the dedication and responsiveness OEMs have to real world demands, and the complexity that goes into developing the available information used to result in safe and proper repairs." Made possible with additional support from AirPro Diagnostics, CAR-O-LINER, CCC Intelligent Solutions, Enterprise Mobility, Reliable Automotive Equipment, Inc., Revv, Toyota North America and Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)
