About us
The Soil & Climate Alliance is housed under Green America Center for Sustainability Solutions. Our mission is advancing a resilient, equitable, and inclusive agriculture system that regenerates soil health, sequesters carbon, and revitalizes farm and rural economics, while improving water quality, biodiversity, food security, and nutrition. We are a community of leaders looking out at the challenges facing our farms, our families and our future and we are responding with solutions. We call forth hope and leadership on soil health to scale regenerative agriculture and reverse climate change. The Network brings together representatives of the entire agriculture supply chain to collaborate over the long term for real impact. We focus on marketplace strategies to rapidly accelerate agricultural system solutions for soil, climate, water, farm economics and food security. Interested in becoming a member? Reach out today.

We are beyond excited to see this project launching as we continue to connect the impact regenerative practices can have on the nutrition of the food we eat.
Do you believe that #regenerative practices in animal agriculture improve the nutritional quality of meat and animal-based products like yogurt, dairy, cheese and eggs? WE do! 🐄 That's why we have teamed up with Edacious to launch our "Regen Protein Research Project" which explores the impact of different animal production systems on nutritional outcomes. We'll look at animal proteins raised using regenerative and conventional methods and see how they measure up. 🐔 Interested in being part of the project and getting your animal protein products analyzed? We'd love to have you! See below for more details. 💮 The project is designed to achieve the following goals for participants and the NDA: 1. Analyze the nutrient density of animal products for members of the Nutrient Density Alliance. 2. Compare participant products to conventionally produced retail samples. 3. Build a project dashboard for participants to share data that includes all the nutrient density and management data collected through the project. 4. Share anonymized results with the public to raise awareness about the nutrient density in food and increase interest in the work of the NDA. 5. Inform future studies in collaboration with academic partners, either on agriculture or health-related areas of inquiry. 🐷 When animals are treated humanely, pasture raised, #grassfed, and living in concert with nature, they tend to have higher levels of many nutrients like Omega 3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, phytosterols, carotenoids and much more. Let's learn together and help improve environmental and human health and ensure happier lives for animals. More info here: https://lnkd.in/gx8rpArd

A few weeks ago, Graham Christensen kicked off some drone-assisted cover cropping adventures using a Green Cover seed mix at his farm in Nebraska. 🌱 This innovative technology helps farmers work more efficiently with their land. We love seeing our farmer members share their regenerative journey!
Drone cover cropping adventures from a few weeks back. This is just one example of how new technologies can help farmers better work within their ecosystem. Intercropping cover crop seeds into standing crops helps our farm get a head start on plant growth in a northern climate which gives us max protection from soil erosion, and also gives us more grazing options. The seed mix from Green Cover Seed included triticale, vetch, oats, rye, and camelina. Thanks to my neighbor Matt Nelson for piloting the aircraft. I would definitely recommend him to others looking to interseed cover into standing crops. We are grateful for the helping hands! 🤲🏼

We’re very excited to announce that members from our Soil & Climate Initiative (SCI) team will be at the Regenerative Food Systems Investment Forum taking place this October 9-10 in Denver! The RFSI Forum will bring together 450 investors, capital activators, and critical stakeholders to activate capital across the regenerative food system. This event is THE gathering for learning the why, how and where to invest capital in agriculture and food for financial and impact returns. If you'll be there, make sure to connect with Julie Davenson and Jeffrey Bos! Learn more and register here ➡ https://lnkd.in/gPQhn2xd
👨🌾 I am excited to be speaking at the Regenerative Food Systems Investment in Denver, CO October 7th -9th. I will be speaking, along with my colleague Jeffrey Bos about the Regenerative Transition Services Soil & Climate Initiative (SCI) provides for investors, corporations and food businesses. 🌱 We need more acres under regenerative management and SCI provides the transition support needed to make investments in regenerative agriculture more impactful. At SCI, we collaborate with farmers across all production systems, aiding in their transition to regenerative, organic, and agroecological farming approaches. 💰This year marks my third consecutive attendance at this event. We need more dollars flowing across the supply web. It been a TOUGH year for farmers. As a former farmer with experience in starting up a regenerative brand, I know from firsthand experience the hard work, pain and then disappointment that hits when you just can't make the business work. There isn't enough investment and public funding moving into the space to support the regenerative sectors growth yet alone ability to thrive. I am excited to reconnect with industry leaders and innovators and discuss how we can better support the farms and start-up businesses committed to changing how we produce food for to the benefit of the planet, our health and equity in the system. I know the Regenerative Food Systems Investment is the place where real solutions will be cultivated. So do not miss out and be sure to join us! Look forward to seeing you there!
