Director of Government Affairs Nicholas Cain, PhD joined SOLARCYCLE partner Martin Pochtaruk, President of Heliene, onstage last week at Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA)’s Gateway to Solar conference to discuss the policy frameworks necessary to advance a circular, closed-loop solar economy. We thank MnSEIA and Heliene for their leadership advancing PV recycling and domestic solar manufacturing!
Minnesota has become a top state for #solar #PV — and for thinking creatively about how to manage panels at end of life. So it was a pleasure for me to travel to Minneapolis to talk circularity with Martin Pochtaruk, Janette Freeman and Emilie O'Leary. Plus I got to walk around Lake Harriet in 70-degree weather, which I've been told is close to the year-round temperature 🙃 Thanks to Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA) for hosting and thanks to all who attended and asked great questions.

Today we’re announcing our partnership with Runergy Alabama Inc to supply ultra-low carbon glass from our cutting-edge solar glass factory in Cedartown Georgia, and to provide comprehensive recycling services for Runergy’s retired solar products. By both investing in upcycled solar glass and sustainably recycling end-of-life modules, Runergy is advancing our mission of building a circular solar supply chain. The partnership is part of continued momentum at our Cedartown solar glass factory, announced early this year. The factory is one of the first to produce specialized glass for crystalline-silicon PV in the U.S. Once complete, it will be able to produce 5-6 GW of solar glass every year, filling a critical gap in the country’s domestic solar supply chain. ☀ 🇺🇸 Read more about our partnership here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gKJugREQ Suvi Sharma Jesse Simons Pablo Dias Robert Vinje Lizzy Aldridge Cody Mueller Ryan Booth

SOLARCYCLE was honored to be part of this Ørsted event celebrating the opening of their 11 Mile project – over 800,000 panels and 300MW - cleanly powering the great state of #arizona and creating tons of quality jobs up and down the economy. Orsted was one of our earliest customers, so it was particularly exciting to see this project come to fruition and know that we were part of helping them #recycle the construction breakage, #domesticate the #supplychain and make #solar even more #sustainable. Join SOLARCYCLE's CTO Pablo Dias for an engaging webinar on closed-loop solar manufacturing, hosted by NorCal AEE and the Association of Energy Engineers. Pablo will outline how the industry can generate new value by harvesting and repurposing critical materials from end-of-life PV modules, and the technological and cultural advancements needed to realize a true circular solar economy.
*End of Life Solar PV modules CAN Get a new life* Date: Wednesday, Oct 2, 2024 Time 4:30PM - 6PM Pacific Webinar Registration: https://lnkd.in/exE2ncCR The solar industry is in a unique position to actualize a true circular economy, potentially setting a precedent for other sectors. SOLARCYCLE lead by CTO Dr. Pablo Dias, has done some exceptional work in this space. It is a tech-driven recycling company focused on producing sustainable and domestic materials at scale for the solar industry. Dr Pablo is a world-renowned researcher in the field of solar PV module and e-waste recycling technologies, conducting leading-edge research in innovative processes and methodologies for high-value, low-cost PV recycling. He has authored numerous seminal research papers in the field, holds multiple patents in photovoltaic recycling, and has authored several book chapters on the topic. Most recently, he was a researcher and lecturer at University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia. Pablo holds a PhD from UFRGS (Brazil), a PhD from Macquarie University (Australia) both in the field of e-waste recycling and management, and a Master of Science in photovoltaics recycling. His work has appeared in The Guardian, Cosmos, Nature, PV Tech, and Solar Power World. We are in NYC this week for #ClimateWeek and on stage at Climate Group to discuss how public-private sector partnerships are actively creating good, clean energy jobs across America. Our Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Dr. Pablo Dias joined Miguel Sossa of Capgemini, Thais Lopez Vogel from VoLo Foundation, Chair Brenda Mallory of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, California Secretary for Environmental Protection Yana Garcia, Antonieta Cadiz from Climate Power, and Angela Branco of Climate Group to discuss the potential of the IRA and other major climate policies to empower Latino communities. For his work researching and advancing SOLARCYCLE's technology, Pablo shared that he takes inspiration from his roots in Brazil. 🇧🇷 He grew up watching his community reuse materials to prevent waste and benefit the environment. Now, he is using those lessons for action by helping SOLARCYCLE advance the circular economy for solar and turn old solar panels into opportunities! Learn more: 👉 www.solarcycle.us

Today, we are proudly announcing our partnership with Heliene, who will purchase our ultra-low carbon glass made from recycled materials in retired solar panels. Heliene will then use the glass to produce the next generation of American solar panels. ☀ 🇺🇸 We will sell at least 4GW or twenty million square meters of recycled glass to Heliene over the next five years. That is the equivalent of about 3,700 football fields! Our partnership helps Heliene improve their supply of domestic components, and their customers qualify for the domestic content adder, while also reducing our collective carbon footprint.
