Sometimes, the timing is just perfect… With the whole #solar and #storage industry gathered at #REplus24 to discuss the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act and the expansion of domestic solar manufacturing… SEIA and Wood Mackenzie today released the U.S. Solar Market Insight Q3 2024 report — and it’s a big one. First, the report reveals that American solar panel manufacturing capacity has quadrupled since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. We are now manufacturing historic amounts of solar energy in America (31 GW to be exact). And soon, we will have enough domestic module production to supply nearly all U.S. demand for years to come. That’s BIG… but there’s more. In Q2, the U.S. installed 9.4 GW of new electric generation capacity, bringing total solar capacity to about 210 GW. Plus, in two years under the IRA, the solar industry has added 75 GW of new capacity to the grid, representing over 36% of all solar capacity built in U.S. history! We have been saying that the IRA is working but the data continues to bare it out. I’m looking forward to many conversations about these results at #REplus24 What do you think of these numbers? How can they forward the conversations we’re having this week? Read more: https://lnkd.in/eTQZgPH9
