I am overjoyed by the news that the Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) Leadership Forum scheduled for October of this year is completely sold out! I was a first-time attendee at the forum last year in Minneapolis and remember walking away feeling energized by the amazing WRISE community and could not wait to get involved. I have been given the opportunity to host a workshop alongside the brilliant Noelle Paige called Salary Negotiation: Breaking Barriers and Mastering Salary Negotiation. I cannot wait to share this workshop with the WRISE attendees who can make it. Furthermore, I have volunteered as a "mentor" for the forum where anyone seeking guidance/advice/community in regard to talent acquisition can book time to speak with me. If you are attending the conference, it is not too late to sign up to be a mentor! You do not have to be of a particular age/title/status. 🎉 It’s Friday, and we’re even closer to RE+ 2024! 🎉 For our last countdown post, we want to shine a spotlight on an event that we believe everyone in our network should attend: the RE+ Celebrating Women in Renewable Energy Reception, hosted by WRISE (with support from other amazing sponsors!).   This event is more than just a celebration; it’s a powerful reminder of the importance of diversifying our industry. It’s also where we’ll get to meet and honor the 2024 WRISE Fellows of the Year!   Did you know? According to a 2019 survey by IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency), women make up only about 32% of the renewable energy workforce. That’s a gap of 78%—significantly larger than the general workforce gap of 8%. 🔋 The countdown to RE+ 2024 continues, and we’re getting more excited by the day! 🔋   According to the RE+ 2023 post-show report, attendees came to the conference with a variety of interests. The technology that garnered the most attention, with over 14,000 people, was energy storage!   It’s no surprise, given the rapid growth in the U.S. battery storage market. Did you know that battery storage capacity in the U.S. has nearly tripled since 2020? With projections to reach over 30 GW by 2030, energy storage is set to play a critical role in our transition to a sustainable future. The countdown to RE+ 2024 has begun!    Last year, over 40,000 people attended, making it the largest renewable energy conference in the world. 🌍 To put that into perspective: - That’s enough people to fill almost every seat in Madison Square Garden twice! - If all of us traveled by car, we could form a traffic jam stretching over 225 miles. (Considering the nature of our business, perhaps we should carpool?  😉) - A crowd of 40,000 people cheering at once can reach a noise level of over 100 decibels—about as loud as a jet taking off.
