📢 Important Update for Azure Users: TLS 1.0 and 1.1 Retirement Timeline Microsoft has announced a phased retirement of TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 for all Azure services, with a hard deadline set for August 31, 2025. This change affects any Azure connections using TLS versions prior to 1.2, as Microsoft moves to require TLS 1.2 or later across all services. Why This Matters: While Microsoft has not identified specific vulnerabilities in its implementation of TLS 1.0 and 1.1, transitioning to TLS 1.2 offers substantial security upgrades, including perfect forward secrecy and enhanced cipher suites. These features not only bolster the security of Azure services but also ensure stronger protections for data and communications—an essential step for any organization prioritizing cybersecurity. What to Do: For any resources connected to Azure, check that they are exclusively using TLS 1.2 or later. If you're already using TLS 1.2+, no action is needed. If you're still on TLS 1.0/1.1, start planning a transition to TLS 1.2 or later to avoid any disruptions in service. Microsoft will keep a running list of services completing this transition, so check the documentation if you rely on specific Azure services that may still be using TLS 1.0 or 1.1. Proactively updating your connections will minimize disruption as the final deadline approaches.
