#GettingToKnowSonsio: Baoying Huang is our Associate Spotlight for October! What is your Sonsio story? I came to Sonsio in August 2021 for an open position. I was impressed with the conversations I had with Jennifer, Bill and Jay. I was also attracted by the Sonsio culture, working atmosphere, and the opportunities. Joining the Sonsio team was the easiest decision of my life. I started as a lead in accounting operations, and now I’m the Assistant Controller. Who were your mentors or advocates throughout your journey? Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have several influential mentors, including Jennifer Meyers, Katie Wirth and Pam Heiny. I am thankful that they were all here to coach, encourage, and actively support my personal and professional growth this whole time. What is your favorite part of working on the Accounting & Finance team? My favorite part of working on the Accounting & Finance team is the working atmosphere. We have learned a lot and have fun at the monthly department meetings. We feel comfortable and are encouraged to share our thoughts, get timely feedback on what we are doing well and where we can improve. Our team members are accountable. We communicate effectively and share skills and information with each other. What is something you are proud of? I’m proud of my ability to adapt to changes. Once there are changes, I will learn as much as possible about the changes, understand the reasons behind them and their potential impact. Then, I create a plan and identify the steps needed to do it. What would your perfect weekend look like? A perfect weekend for me would be relaxed and cozy. I’d start with a leisurely morning. Then, I would spend time engaging in a fun activity, such as hiking, visiting a scenic area, or attending local events or a concert. In the evening, I’d gather with friends or family for a relaxed meal and sharing stories. #FeatureFriday

#GettingToKnowSonsio: Matt Cook is our Associate Spotlight for September! What is your Sonsio story? I was originally hired at Dent Wizard. I worked in the food sector at the time and wanted to find a new area I could excel in. I had a family friend that recommended the job to me, and I was able to work my way into the company. When the merger happened in 2021, our department was moved over to Sonsio and it has been wonderful! Who were your mentors or advocates throughout your journey? I would have to say Marie Coulibaly and Ryan Arendes. They taught me everything I know about being a team lead! What is your favorite part of working on the Service Operations team? I love problem solving. Having a problem presented to me and coming up with a solution would be my favorite part. What is something you are proud of? I am proud that I have been able to get over my anxiety. I used to be afraid to do new things or have new tasks at work, and I learned to push through that. I learned that if you push through it, everything at the end of the day will be fine. What would your perfect weekend look like? My perfect weekend would be traveling to a new place and having good food. Preferably from a fancy restaurant or a restaurant with history. I love food and I want to travel more! #FeatureFriday

#GettingToKnowSonsio: Aaron Talbert is our Associate Spotlight for August! What is your Sonsio story? I have been working on cars since I was about 15 years old. I worked at GM for about 10 years and Jason Gresham, who I worked with at GM, had moved to Sonsio. He told me about the company and how great it was, so I made the decision to stop working on cars full-time (I still do as a hobby) and came to Sonsio about 17 years ago. I think it says a lot about Sonsio that there are a lot of people who have been with the company for a long, long period of time. I would say that’s pretty rare for a company to retain people like that. Who were your mentors or advocates throughout your journey? There are quite a few. James, Kirk, Eddie, Jason, Michelle, Terry, TC, the whole WEX department…really all the people I work with. They always help with whatever you need; help you do better and figure out problems. What is your favorite part of working on the Mechanical team? I really enjoy being able to help a customer out when they are stranded or out of town and they don’t have any direction of what to do. They need guidance and my favorite part of being on the Mechanical team is being able to use my knowledge to get them out of a stressful situation as well as I can so they can get back to normalness. My team all gets along really well and we help each other out. When anyone has any questions, we all bounce ideas off each other and, in the end, we take care of the customer. What is something you are proud of? Just trying to be kind and helpful; trying to help people out when they need it. What would your perfect weekend look like? I do a lot of camping so I would have to say it would be my family, my friends, and I going camping, riding our ATVs, fishing, playing some cornhole, grilling, smoking food, and then having a nice campfire. #FeatureFriday
