At Sora, students engage in live, project-based, and expert-led classes called Expeditions. Earlier this month, we shared some new Expeditions launching for the 2024-25 school year. Here are even more exciting options: 🤖 Sci-fi Machines: Explore an array of various inventions (real and fictional) and the science behind them. Students will design their very own machine. 🦬 Osage Nation: Students will explore the intricate and tumultuous history surrounding the Osage Nation during the early 20th-century oil boom, including the intersection of wealth, exploitation, and the consequences of U.S. expansionism. 🧁 Great British Baking Show: Explore British colonization by tasting and testing recipes representing colonized lands. How did expansion and trade rewrite the menus across the globe? 🧘 How Meditation and Science Can Make You Happier - An exploratory journey into the intricate workings of the human brain, the transformative power of meditation, and various mindfulness practices. 📊 Once Upon a Dataset: Taking real-world data, tell the story of various events, policies, and laws that affected the world. This can help us understand the present or make predictions for the future. 🪡 Sewing the Seeds of Civil War: Weave together the story of the Civil War…through sewing! Explore the causes and effects of the Civil War and the part that sewing played in one of America’s most transformative periods. 🥔 Galactic Gardeners: Mission to Mars: Become part of a team colonizing Mars. Learn about Mars' environment, grow food using advanced farming technologies like hydroponics, and solve challenges like a true space engineer. 📻 Soradio: The History and Power of Radio: How did the birth of radio unify a nation?
