About us
SoTecIn Factory is a Horizon Europe project aimed at improving resilience and sustainability of the European industry by supporting a community of mission-oriented social innovators and connecting them to technology providers and industrial companies. The project supports systemic transformation towards restructuring 7 key industrial value chains (Electronics and ICT; Batteries and Vehicles; Packaging; Plastics; Textiles; Construction and Buildings; Food Water and Nutrients) to be low-carbon and circular, by implementing higher value circular economy strategies, i.e. reuse, repair, refurbish and remanufacture. Specifically, the SoTecIn Factory will support 40 mission-oriented social entrepreneurs with services regarding governance (through the creation of stewardship councils for each innovation), business model, capacity-building, fund-raising and exploitation, and 30 mission-oriented pre-market demonstration projects. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Grant Agreement 101058385. Manufy Circular Celebrations was a huge success, and we couldn't be more proud! With over 125 guests sharing positive ideas, we made our case clear: the transition to circular fashion is possible.🎉 Yesterday, on October 17th, we welcomed fashion brands and experts from our supportive network at Fashion for Good in Amsterdam to discuss the future of sustainable fashion. The event featured inspiring talks from Decathlon Nederland, MENDED, Byewaste, and others, focusing on reducing emissions and integrating circular practices like repair and reuse into business models. The panel, moderated by Natasja Van Den Berg, included insightful contributions from Agnes Weber, Bianca Streng, Sofie Schop, and Frouke Bruinsma. As we explored the biggest challenges ahead, it became clear that with the right strategies, scaling circular collaborations and innovations can drive meaningful change in the fashion industry. Key takeaways that all brands can start working with tomorrow: 1) Start with Design: Integrate circularity as a core requirement in the design process. 2) Get the Data: Partner within the industry to share data, learn from each other, and make informed circular decisions. 3) Show How It's Done: One great solution—like repair (MENDED) or direct forwarding of returns (It Goes Forward)—can inspire the industry and get everyone on board.
