The South Dakota State University Alumni Association fosters a spirit of loyalty and community among its alumni, students, and friends. The SDSU Alumni Association is an independent, not-for-profit organization, non dues association that welcomes all graduates, former students, faculty, staff and friends of South Dakota State, as well as students, to be SDSU Alumni Association members. We strive to connect alumni to SDSU and each other, through the promotion of the University and by providing valuable benefits, services and resources to members. The SDSU Alumni Association embraces each one of its more than 90,000 alumni and friends who are proud to be Jackrabbits. Come celebrate Indigenous music, art and culture! The Wokini Initiative is partnering with Levitt at the Falls to host the Mitakuye Oyasin "All My Relatives" Festival in Sioux Falls. We hope you're as excited as we are to climb the Campanile this fall when it reopens!
The Coughlin Campanile at #SDState is undergoing masonry and stone restoration over the summer to preserve its structural integrity and aesthetics. The Campanile is currently closed to the public and surrounded by scaffolding needed to perform the critical repairs. Masonry joints typically last 25-50 years but can deteriorate faster due to height, weather exposure and water infiltration. Masonry and stone units have a long lifespan but need regular maintenance to sustain their structural integrity. The Campanile, standing 165 feet tall and donated by alum Charles Coughlin, last underwent restoration in 2001. The Campanile, a campus landmark since 1929, is one of eight structures on campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The restoration project will ensure that the Campanile remains an iconic structure and symbol of SDSU. The project, which started after graduation, aims to finish by fall 2024.

The SDSU Alumni Association is accepting applications for alumni to serve as mentors in the next cohort of the SDSU Alumni Mentor Program which will kick off this fall. Each alumni applicant that is selected to serve will be matched 1:1 with an SDSU student. The time investment is small (1 hour per month) but will pay dividends for the student mentees.
