The Jacamar Arrow vessel recently made a return visit to our Broadway Terminal, where our dedicated crews efficiently discharged nearly 13,000 crates of lumber! At South Jersey Ports, we’re proud to keep the supply chain moving and to support our region's industries with reliable and efficient service. 💪

While the name fits their shallow, boat-like shape, in the world of freight transportation, a gondola means something quite different! 🚂✨💪 A gondola rail car is designed to ship heavy bulk commodities essential for construction, like scrap metal, steel beams, logs, sand, and more. These mighty rail cars keep the supply chain moving, never missing a beat. According to the Association of American Railroads (AAR), U.S. freight railroads transport over two million carloads of construction materials each year. So, the next time you see a gondola rail car, think of it as a crucial player in the construction industry. And give a big shout-out to our crewmembers who skillfully handle loading the cars for their ultimate destinations and projects! 🚂

Shoutout to Our Stevedores and Local 18! A massive THANK YOU to our incredible stevedores and Local 18 for their tremendous effort in handling nearly 70,000 MT of steel in this intense heat! Over the past week, our dedicated crews worked tirelessly to discharge and manage cargo from the New London Eagle, Solidarnosc, and Elegant Emilie vessels. Our terminal is overflowing with steel cargo during what is typically our slow season! Despite this, our amazing team is handling the immense workload with unmatched dedication and resilience.
