Today we welcomed volunteers from Norwell High School to our South Shore YMCA Nature Center in Norwell for their annual #NorwellCaresDay ✨ These hardworking volunteers kicked off the day with a clean-up of our native plant garden, and even found a spotted salamander! We’re excited to continue our work in this garden, transforming it into a community resource for everyone to learn about and appreciate native plants. Thank you for making a difference, Norwell High School! #norwellcaresday #nativeplants #community #southshoreymca

Volunteers from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts spent today working at our South Shore YMCA Family Farm as a part of their annual Service Day. This hardworking group helped harvest produce for our local food pantries and tended to crops...while also showing some love to our beloved chickens! We appreciate all of our volunteers for their hard work, thank you for supporting our community! #BCBSMA #BCBSMAServiceDay #Community #ServiceDay2024

From crayfish and eels to sunfish and green frogs, our educators explored the rich biodiversity of the area while engaging with the community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, and a special thanks to the Norwell Conservation Commission for organizing such an engaging event.
