The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is a professional society of more than 15,000 transportation engineers, planners and other professionals in some 80 countries. The Institute facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development and management for all modes of transportation. A big shoutout to the South Texas ITE STEM Committee and all the dedicated volunteers for their hard work! The committee prepared 50 goody bags for children attending the 10th Annual UTSA Engineering BBQ Cookoff and hosted an interactive STEM table to inspire and engage kids in the field of transportation. Thank you Ravali Kosaraju P.Eng., P.E., PTOE, Stacey Sinclair, & Adelite Hategeka, EIT for making this event memorable for the next generation of engineers! STITE Officers Alex Magdaleno & Josue Ortiz, P.E., PTOE and committee members Christopher Lira, P.E. & Elizabeth De Leon had the opportunity to present to the UTSA ITE about the advantages of joining ITE - A Community of Transportation Professionals. We provided them with food and drinks to energize their studies and inform students about the 2025 scholarship announcements, upcoming events and conferences they should consider attending and the benefits in doing so. We are glad to see the student chapter gaining momentum and already have a great line up of guest speakers set for year 2024.
