About us

Southeastern Mental Health Authority is a is a community mental health agency operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). Its primary goal is to provide high quality behavioral health services to those in our community with mental health and substance use disorders who are 18 years or older and reside in New London County and its surrounding towns. Rick Callahan, M.A., LPC, LADC, is Chief Executive Officer at the Southeastern Mental Health Authority, having held this position for the last 5 years. Rick has worked in a leadership role for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services for the past 22 years and has been in the field of behavioral health for over 35 years.
