Transportation decision-makers united to promote responsible growth while preserving community and natural resources at the Thrive Regional Partnership Fifth Annual State of Freight Forum, presented by Chattanooga Gas. During a Q&A session titled "Powering the Future: Emerging Sustainability Trends in Transportation," our Director of Sustainability & Renewable Gas Solutions, Carl Garofalo, highlighted key points including: 1. Compressed natural gas is a “ready now” solution for fleet decarbonization, especially heavy-duty transportation like class 8 trucks, buses, refuse haulers etc. 2. The pairing of compressed natural gas with renewable natural gas enables 3. Using renewable natural gas not only reduces emissions, but also creates jobs and economic opportunities Carl emphasized that Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) are effective customer solutions for high mileage fleets and heavy transit vehicles. CNG and RNG are an important part of Southern's "all of the above" approach to customer solutions as it complements electric and other clean fuel transportation solutions.
