We had a blast at our 26th Annual Native American Health and Wellness Conference! Delicious food, incredible education, exciting giveaways, and free resources all added to the lively event, but the main thing that made it special was YOU! Getting connected for the future! 💻 It was a monumental event at our Boys & Girls Club for Kumeyaay Nations Wellness as we held the grand opening for the new Connected Learning Center sponsored by AT&T and Human-I-T 🎉 The new CLC features 16 computer stations and over 100 laptops were given away, allowing our Native youth to safely navigate the online world and connect to new learning possibilities! This is the third CLC ever built on Native land in California and we are honored to be able to provide these new technologies and resources to our youth 🧠

Were you at this year’s SIHC Diabetes Day fair? Every year, we host a diabetes event for one day in Alpine and another day in Campo to help our diabetic patients take control of their lives. This year, the event offered diabetic follow-ups, eye exams, foot exams, bloodwork, and vaccinations. Free lunch, gifts, and other resources were also provided to make it a great day for everyone in attendance. Someone once said, “Diabetes is not a choice, but how I live with it is.” That’s why we do everything we can at SIHC to help you live a happy and free life with diabetes. Our SDPI program (Special Diabetes Program for Indians) is always available to assist you and anyone you may know with diabetes.
