Last week, 15 Southside Bank team members partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Fort Worth to build a home for a community member. Our team was responsible for the siding, windows, and caulking of this home build. Community Banker BJ Cast shares about the project, "This was such a great and humbling experience. Not only did we get to work on the home, we got to work alongside the homeowner, Chris. He is such a nice guy and a hard worker! It was long, hard work, yet so very rewarding. I learned so much and am glad I was afforded this opportunity!" We are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity in creating homes for the communities we serve.

We are pleased to announce that Emily Corbett, AAMSᵀᴹ has been promoted to Southeast Texas Market President, Wealth Management & Trust. The position was formerly held by Ernest King, who is retiring after many years of dedicated service. Emily has been with Southside since 2015, serving most recently as a Wealth Management & Trust Officer in Lufkin. Emily is a respected and talented wealth manager within the Lufkin community and is actively involved in several non-profit organizations. She was a recipient of the 2023 International Women’s Day Award from Hospice of the Pines and currently serves on multiple non-profit boards. Please join us in thanking Ernest for his long-time leadership at Southside and in the Lufkin community, and congratulating Emily in her new role.

This month we hosted a small business workshop for Spanish speakers in Tyler at our main branch. Participants got to hear from our panel on topics like cybersecurity, technology, fraud prevention, commercial lending, merchant services, and mortgage lending. Member FDIC
