The SPCA of Texas was proud to participate in the Mateo and Company Splash pool party recently at the Warwick Melrose Dallas! The event featured Tamica Lee of Bravo, OWN and more and Bartise Bowden, CPA of Netflix’ Love is Blind and Perfect Match. It was a fantastic poolside event where we made tons of new friends, introduced fabulous dogs to prospective adopters, and forged a strong relationship with a remarkable donor. SPCA of Texas Senior Marketing and Communications Manager Paul Hyso and Donor Engagement Officer Kirstie James hosted an information table and shared SPCA of Texas merchandise with partygoers. This week, Paul received a $5K donation check from Mateo Diaz in our lobby!   We are extremely grateful to Mateo and his team who generously donated their profits to us! Veterinary technicians are critical to the day-to-day function of the SPCA of Texas’ clinical practice, and play vital roles in preserving animal health and welfare. National Veterinary Technician Week—October 13-19, 2024—provides an opportunity to recognize veterinary technicians’ contributions. First celebrated in 1993, it takes place in the third week of October each year. We want to wish all our Vet Techs a very happy Vet Tech Appreciation week! To acknowledge the very hard work of this group, pizzas were delivered to all SPCA of Texas locations earlier in the week so everyone could celebrate this dedicated team’s essential work together!
