Pitching is stressful, but also inspiring. When The Special Teams Project joins a brand team as they consider, interview, and select new agency and technology partners, we find ourselves reinvigorated about the business of "brand" and how much opportunity exists to surprise and delight people. Here are the top 5 "pitch things" we're reminded of today, as we support a major brand in their search for a new ad agency partner: 1. 📣Brands need to communicate their ask effectively. A good pitch brief sets potential partners on the most productive path as they build their pitch response. It is ok to not know everything you might want/need up front, but know why you're hosting a pitch, and be clear on your goals, objectives, and budget. 2. 🔢Nothing meaningful happens without data and insights. Not good advertising, not good PR, not good creative. Brands should share enough data with potential partners (under NDA) to inform their pitch responses. Potential partners should bring additional data and insights to the table. 3. 📲Strategy & Media pros lead advertising decisioning now. A great TV ad won't work if the audience doesn't watch TV. A brilliant TikTok series is worthless if the audience dwells in Insta and Snap. Understand the behaviors of the brand's audience before pitching campaign elements. 4. 💡Creative platforms are more powerful than one good ad. A platform that produces engaging messaging for a long time means that advertising investments work harder, and brands have more success (in whatever ways they define success). If you're seeking long-term success, give creatives the time and money it takes to produce a platform, not just a series of one-off ads. 5. 🏆Long-term partnerships require cultural alignment. A culture fit isn't a "nice to have" anymore... it is everything. Who you are, how you work, and your POV on partners & end customers matter. Find talented agency and technology partners that solve your challenges, but also make you want to take their phone call. Wishing everyone pitching right now, and everyone seeking new partners and tools, success in finding your next great alliance. Go get 'em! #pitching #adagencies #pragencies #mediaagencies #creativeagencies #techpartners #brands #partners #advertising #pr

Congrats to the Construction Industry Institute's 2024 research teams on their successful presentations and on the release of their game-changing research and tools. So many parallels to MarCom, as they talk about #AI, #quality, #data, #digitaltransformation, and #culture. A phenomenal reminder that those working in starkly different industries have more in common than you might think. Hello, friends! We've talked for 10 years about building a one-of-a-kind firm focused on people and problem-solving. A few months ago we went and did it. Today, we're ready to talk about it in a big way. Welcome, everyone, to The Special Teams Project! The Special Teams Project is a consultancy supporting modern business, marketing, and communications initiatives for enterprise and mid-cap companies. We bring a wide breadth of expertise to our client partners, with deep competencies in marketing, communications, media, and data & analytics, and we thrive in both B2C and B2B environments. Good ideas are good ideas, and when applied alongside institutional knowledge, there is no situation, or metric, that can't be improved. We're so excited to show you the power of a project with Special Teammates by your side. Big thanks to all that have already supported us in Year One, with a special nod to our founding clients. Your generosity, partnership, and frank feedback have led us to today and empowered a better tomorrow for people who buy things and people that sell things.
