  • We had an amazing time in Whittier at our Trunk or Treat event, which celebrated Red Ribbon Week! This public event, hosted in collaboration with the Department of Public Health, Mental Health, and the Wellness Center, brought families together for a fun and meaningful experience. In addition to the creative and treat-filled trunks, families had access to valuable resources promoting the message of "Say No to Drugs." Kids enjoyed small activities throughout the day, making the event both educational and fun for everyone. Thank you to all who joined us to support healthy, drug-free choices in our community!  #redribbonweek #spiritt #trunkortreat

  • On October 17th, we gathered at South El Monte City Hall for a powerful event called Love Shouldn't Hurt Walk to End Domestic Violence, to raise awareness about domestic violence and show support for survivors. The event brought together families, community members, and local organizations to unite against domestic violence and spread hope. The evening featured a resource fair with various nonprofits sharing information and resources, alongside a vibrant atmosphere with a dance recital, face painting, and a jumper for the little ones. Families had the chance to create posters showing their support for ending domestic violence, and guests enjoyed free tamales and event T-shirts. Toward the end, we all joined together for a walk around the area, a united effort to raise awareness and bring attention to this important cause. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped create a day of community, support, and solidarity. #elmonte #spiritt #domesticviolenceawareness

  • On October 11th, we gathered in Whittier for a meaningful candlelight vigil dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and honoring the strength of survivors. The event united our community to stand together, offer support, and spread hope for those affected by domestic violence. Guests had the opportunity to connect with local small businesses that showed their solidarity and sold food and drinks throughout the evening. Friends and family members created signs with messages of support, showing that our community stands united in support of survivors and against abuse. We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped us create a space of solidarity and hope. We will continue to raise awareness and foster a community of support and healing. #domesticviolenceawareness #breakthesilence #spiritt

  • On October 4th, we gathered together for a heartfelt candlelight vigil to spread awareness about domestic violence and to honor the strength and resilience of survivors. The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of coming together as a community to offer support, share resources, and stand together. We were deeply moved as a few courageous survivors shared their stories, inspiring us all with their bravery. We were also honored to have the Chief of Police of Bell Gardens join us in support of this cause. Guests enjoyed churros and hot chocolate while friends and family members left heartfelt notes with encouragement and affirmations for survivors. Thank you to everyone who attended and showed their solidarity. Together, we continue to raise awareness, offer support, and build a community of hope and healing. #domesticviolenceawareness #breakthesilence #spiritt

  • SPIRITT Family Services CEO, Elvia Torres recently attended a Measure G event, standing alongside community leaders to push for greater representation and accountability in the Los Angeles County government. Measure G is a bold step towards ensuring that our local government works for everyone by expanding the Board of Supervisors and creating more opportunities for voices to be heard.  This reform is crucial. It means better access to resources, more equitable representation, and greater transparency in how decisions that affect our communities are made. Stronger governance means a stronger support system for the families and individuals we serve every day. #measureg #spiritt
