Why is it so important to keep working on reducing the price of Direct Air Capture as a viable tool for carbon removal at a massive scale? And how is the work we’re doing on Orchard One in Wyoming driving us toward that goal? CEO and co-founder Charles Cadieu talked about all that and more — like our proposal to remove the carbon from the jet flights of Starbucks’ CEO in exchange for Pumpkin Spice Lattes — on the most recent episode of the Carbonsations podcast with host Violet George. https://lnkd.in/gNCnafZC #DAC #directaircapture #carbonremoval

Our continued efforts to combat climate change were highlighted in a story from Christopher Helman at Forbes, who noted how our novel sorbent technology that directly captures carbon from the air is helping aramco work towards its climate goals. Our CEO Charles Cadieu explained how our innovative technology holds onto the collected carbon, extracts it and disposes it safely, which will allow us to sequester over 2 million tons of carbon a year when our first site, Orchard One, is operational. Can waste heat from large data centers be an important tool for direct air capture efforts? It can when combined with the right technology and locations, as Head of Infrastructure Mindy Ren explained to DatacenterDynamics.
An important topic with growing AI demand: Data centers can become an important power source for Direct Air Capture (DAC), provided they use the right materials and are in the optimal locations. Happy to see Spiritus' Head of Infrastructure Mindy Ren discuss this topic with DatacenterDynamics. https://lnkd.in/gWJrGMZZ #carbonremoval #directaircapture #ai #datacenters

Choosing a site for Orchard One was a delicate process, but once all the options were weighed, it wasn't hard to see why we selected #Wyoming. Governor Mark Gordon has been one of America's biggest advocates for #carboncapture and safe #geologicsequestration, and has helped make a policy-friendly environment for operations like this to break ground. You can learn more about Orchard One and why we chose Wyoming in today's Wyoming Tribune Eagle cover story by Noah Zahn. (link in comments)
