Home-equity players gathered last week at an event hosted by Information Management Network (IMN) to discuss a range of home-equity topics — including servicing HELOCs, CES loans & HEi contracts. Issues covered included how some home-equity products improve 1st mortgage MSR values, the challenges with HEi servicing, and home-equity regulation. Moderator Stephanie (Goss) Damsky of Splitero said that as rates crept up over the past 18 months, prepayment speeds slowed on home-equity products. Panelist Anna Krogh of Dovenmuehle said “Everyone generally agrees that getting the loan back to reperforming status is just the best outcome." Cornerstone Servicing's Jesse Roth said “The regulation around the HEi scares me.” BSI Financial Services' Allen Price indicated HEi providers are doing a good job educating homeowners about the product. https://lnkd.in/ghG2-4EQ
