At Spooler, we're huge fans of location media: storytelling pinned to a certain latitude and longitude that, with the help of the internet and GPS, plays back at just the right moment. Location media has been around for years, and many talented people create more of it every day. But most potential listeners have never heard of it, let alone tried it. Today we released OSLO, an open standard publishing format for location stories, to help jumpstart this promising medium. https://lnkd.in/gtNyTGdH

On Juneteenth we honor the Black American struggle for equality. 70 years ago, the Supreme Court wrote another chapter in that story: the landmark Brown v Board of Education decision. Spooler was honored to produce an AI-enabled recreation of the oral arguments and decision from the original transcripts. Hear Thurgood Marshall, Earl Warren and others as they have never been heard before:

Today is the 70th anniversary of the historical Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education which ended legal segregation in public schools. Spooler was honored to produce an AI-enabled recreation of the oral arguments and decision from the original transcripts. No audio recording of the proceedings previously existed. Hear Thurgood Marshall and Chief Justice Earl Warren for the first time in Brown v. Board of Education Revisited at brown.oyez.org. This effort was a collaboration with originator Jerry Goldman, Justia, Northwestern University, Idib Group, and Respeecher. Spooler would like to thank the project Advisory Committee: John Q. Barrett, Jasmine Harris Ph.D, Timothy Johnson, Mark Liberman, Nova Lorraine, Zachary Nunn, and Andrew Thompson. Brown v. Board of Education Revisited is dedicated to the plaintiffs and their families who sacrificed so much through the Brown litigation for the benefit of all Americans.
