We are proud to be founding members of the Community Focus Report and thrilled to celebrate its 20th anniversary! At the 20th anniversary event, Jim Anderson, retired Chamber president, described the inspiration of the report which stemmed from a 2003 Chamber Community Leadership Visit to Lexington, KY, where a similar report was aimed to do "community soul searching". Moderated by Brian Fogle, retired CEO of Community Foundation of the Ozarks, a panel discussed the highlights of the last 20 years the report has been in place. Panelists included Katie Towns, Springfield-Greene County Health Department, Carrie Richardson, Leadership Springfield and Laura Farmer, CASA of Southwest Missouri. The 2024 report, overviewed by Dr. Jonathan Groves, Community Focus Report editor of Drury University, identified 66 total key areas of strength (blue ribbons) and areas needing improvement (red flags) for Springfield/Greene County.
