About us

As a division of City Utilities created in 1987, SpringNet provided internal communications to the utility and local municipal government facilities via fiber optical circuits. SONET technology was introduced in 1994 to provide high bandwidth delivery and recovery capabilities. SpringNet began delivering broadband services over fiber exclusively to area businesses in 1997. In 2000, transition to a 100% IP Layer 2 and Layer 3 network began which allowed SpringNet to offer business services over a standard Ethernet up to 100gbps today.
