Yesterday we held our 21st Annual Fore the Kids Golf Outing, where our fundraising efforts go towards supporting our youth programs. It was such a beautiful day for golf! Around 150 amazing people joined us for the day, all from different companies throughout our community. The feeling of support was overwhelming! Thank you all again for coming to support the kids! Thank you to EVERYONE who helped make this day happen! We could not do what we do for the community without your wonderful support.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT! For 19 wonderful years, Dawn Lytle has been an essential part of our Member Service team! Her dedication to the Stevens Point Area YMCA community has been nothing short of inspirational. Throughout the years, Dawn has honed her computer and interpersonal skills, making her an asset to our team as the assistant of Member Services! Her enduring presence for nearly two decades is something we deeply cherish. Dawn sums it up best when asked about her favorite part of the job: "Being able to meet so many amazing people." We couldn't agree more! It's truly a blessing to be part of a workplace that's enveloped by such a remarkable community. Away from the Member Services desk, Dawn loves to spend quality time with her family. We are incredibly thankful for Dawn, her commitment, and the vibrant energy she brings to our Y family. Dawn, your contributions to the Stevens Point Area YMCA are deeply appreciated. Thank you for all you do!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Our Stevens Point Area YMCA has had the pleasure of practicing Yoga with Angela Klish/May for the past 5 years. Angela is one of our dedicated Yoga instructors and we want to thank her for the talent and energy she brings to the YMCA. Angela appreciates the community connections and family atmosphere of the YMCA. She says The Stevens Point Area YMCA holds a special place in her heart because it’s where she taught her first Yoga class. What being a part of the YMCA taught Angela: “The ability to connect and foster relationships with people of all kinds and backgrounds, and leadership skills. Gave me a place to grow as a yoga instructor and have a home base in the wellness field.” When Angela isn’t practicing Yoga you can find her spending time with her family, painting, dancing, gardening, kayaking, reading, or being in nature! Angela says she is grateful she is a part of the YMCA community, and we are all so grateful that she is here! Please join us in thanking Angela for all she does for our YMCA!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Racheal Mews is our wonderful Childcare Enrollment Specialist. For the past year and a half, she has been using her compassionate and caring nature to help families become a part of our Stevens Point Area YMCA community. Her favorite part about the YMCA is meeting new friends, she says her whole family has been able to make friends in the community. This has meant a lot to them as they moved here from out of state, not knowing many people in the area. “We’ve connected with many families through the YMCA which has made this move across the United States a smooth transition for us.” When asked about what the YMCA has taught her, Racheal says: “The YMCA has taught me what compassion is on a deeper level. Learning about the hardships families face in our community, motivates me to advocate for those who need assistance or don’t know where to turn and find solutions so they can reach their full potential." She says that being a part of the YMCA has helped her reach her goals of becoming an active community member and helping other children and families do the same. She says outside of work, you can find her at the local coffee shops, farmers markets, the Green Circle Trail, or outside making memories with her family. Help us in thanking Racheal for all she does for our YMCA and the community!

Shannon McKinley is one of our wonderful fitness instructors, for the past 11 years she has been helping our community become the best versions of themselves. Her favorite thing about working at the Stevens Point Area YMCA is how connected to the community she feels because of all the amazing people she gets to meet. Shannon truly appreciates the YMCA and loves all that it has given to her. Shannon says that her work has helped her develop the skill of public speaking. She also mentioned that there is a learning curve when it comes to participating on either side of fitness classes- “The first time I put on the headset to lead a class I was terrified. Now it feels natural. I’m also far more comfortable going to classes by myself!” Shannon also appreciates what the YMCA does for her kids and gets the opportunity to watch them do what they love! We are so thankful for Shannon and everything she does for our YMCA!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT! BreAnn Constantineau has been a part of the Stevens Point Area YMCA for 3 years, she currently holds the title of “Member Services & Marketing Director” so you can usually find her at the Member Services desk or in her office studying Search Engine Optimization! We are so grateful that BreAnn is a part of our community! BreAnn also spends a lot of time out at Camp Glacier Hollow, which is a place that has a track record of creating some great memories! “Running out of gas in the gator at Glacier Hollow and getting pulled by Ryan and the big tractor, setting up a pulley system (with a tractor and trees) to drag massive furniture out of a tiny building at Glacier Hollow.” She also loves seeing all the campers have fun and hearing all the laughter! We also asked BreAnn what skills she has learned from working here and how they help her achieve her professional goals: “Patience, multi-tasking, organization, and marketing. Day-to-day operations keep me multitasking! With the sheer volume of projects happening at the same time, staying organized is critically important!” Outside of work, BreAnn likes to watch her children play sports, go camping, backpack, ride her horses, and hang out on the boat! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!
