As a long-time donor and participant, SRM proudly supported Joya Child & Family Development at last month's annual Joya Golf Classic at Downriver Golf Course! This incredible organization provides more than care for children; Joya helps build families that advocate for their children for the rest of their lives. Joya Child & Family Development is a non-profit pediatric therapy provider dedicated to serving children in Spokane County. They offer a range of services including occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as special education services. Exciting news!! In June 2024, we successfully closed on our second Workforce Housing acquisition, The Mill at First Hill! Situated in the vibrant First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, The Mill features 358 units across two 14-story buildings, originally built in 1949. This acquisition will permanently preserve these 358 units as workforce housing, a significant achievement in today’s challenging real estate market. The $84M deal was made possible through financing from Amazon’s Housing Equity Fund, our non-profit partner Shelter America Group, Fannie Mae, and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC). Fifty percent of the units will be available for renters earning 60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI), while the remaining 50 percent will be available for those earning 80 percent AMI. Over the past two years, we’ve successfully partnered with Amazon’s Housing Equity Fund and Microsoft’s Affordable Housing Initiative to create over 1,000 units of affordable and workforce housing in King County.
