Still Serving Veterans

TMF Northern Alabama will be supporting Wreaths for Veterans for our third year in row! Last year we placed nearly 4,000 wreaths and we welcome our community to join us this year as we honor local veterans. Our chapter will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama at 0930 on 20 November. We will be rucking for a cause and encourage you to bring a ruck if you have one! We want Huntsville veterans to know that reaching out for help doesn't make you a burden; we will share the weight. Pack your ruck as heavy or light as you'd like. I will be available for any questions concerning the Travis Manion Foundation, as well as WellStone's SGB Program and help getting a VA community care referral for mental health services. Earlier this month, members of the Intrepid Ideal Community Fund issued grants to our Quarter 3 recipients! The first grant, issued to Still Serving Veterans, will go toward the organization's VA benefit program. SSV serves and honors Veterans and their families by empowering them to build meaningful lives through connections to fulfilling careers, benefits, and services; and to proactively strengthen Veteran communities through leadership and collaboration. The second grant, issued to the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, will go toward providing 50 patients with up to $200 to help with prescription co-pays. The Russel Hill Cancer Foundation improves the health of the North Alabama area through the support of bold, innovative cancer research, cancer education, and patient assistance.
