About us
As any seasoned gardener or landscaper knows, the most important thing you can do to enhance a lawn or garden is to cultivate better soil. And the single best way to do that is to condition your soil with compost, one of the finest organic supplements known to humankind. For over three decades, St. Louis Composting has been the region’s leading producer of nature’s ultimate renewable resource. We supply hobbyists and professionals alike with top quality compost, topsoil and soil blends and a variety of mulches while simultaneously reducing landfill waste across the metro area. We are also a member of the US Composting Council's Seal of Testing Assurance Program (STA) which offers certified compost. Additionally, we offer a Rain Garden Mix that meets and exceeds all Rain Garden specifications of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. With STA Certified Compost,13 varieties of natural and colored mulch, and a great selection of premium soils, St. Louis Composting has what every gardener and landscaper needs for a more productive and beautiful garden. 🌍 We had an incredible experience going behind the scenes with Tim Ridderbos, exploring the vital work of composting and recycling food waste.
Stuart Kagan said it best on the panel last week at Recycling Today’s Scrap Expo >>> “Build your platform now, even if you don’t know what for, because when you want it, it will be too late.” Well, about 2 years ago I started working on my platform (at Judy Ferraro’s encouragement to do so;) and I didn’t know what for, but today it’s getting a little more clear. And when I started, it wasn’t perfect, shoot, it wasn’t even very good… Last year, Wood Hat Spirits, Todd Wilson from Perfect Circle Recycling, and the folks at St. Louis Composting allowed me to come in and make a few videos sharing their sustainability stories on LinkedIn - all simply shot and edited on an iPhone. Then, this past January, Tom Herbig from Wild and Curious saw the videos and reached out. We had the idea to tell another story or two with a *little* more horsepower than just an iPhone… 🎬And boy, did his team bring the cinematic horsepower!!!🎞️ I don’t know where this is going, but I do know there are A LOT of incredible stories that deserve to be told about #conservation, #sustainability and #recycledmaterials ⭐️So the moral of the story is this: Just get started!! None of it has to be fancy, professionally produced or perfect - in fact it is almost guaranteed not to be. The only thing it should be is real!⭐️ Finally, stay tuned, the full 2 minute trailer of this little passion project is coming soon. Triton Ties Shapiro - Partners Today. For Tomorrow.
