Knowledge and Values for a Lifetime

About us

WHY ST. RICHARD’S: St. Richard's Episcopal School is the only Episcopal school in the state of Indiana. All are welcome and can find belonging at St. Richard's. Since 1960, St. Richard’s has been providing a diverse and international student body with an excellent academic foundation rooted in Episcopal values. Our students are encouraged to ask questions, use reason, and learn wisdom, compassion and humility as they practice the skills they need to be global citizens. Students learn to have honest and respectful dialogue across lines of disagreement and difference as they prepare for lives of leadership and civic responsibility. Faculty at St. Richard's build lasting relationships with students and families as they implement inquiry-based and talent development curriculum to meet students where they are and encourage students to stretch and grow in a safe space. Faculty and students benefit from our location in the heart of Indianapolis with many field experiences and partnerships for learning and service. Our most recent graduating class is a good example of the impact of a St. Richard's education. The Class of 2021 were accepted into the high school of their choice, earned over $525,000 in merit financial aid, won multiple National Championships in math competitions, placed 3rd in the country in the We the People, and are prepared for their next stage in life with knowledge and values for a lifetime.

  • Chris Stack, Class of 1985, made his Broadway debut in April of this year in Stereophonic! Stereophonic follows a 1970s rock band as they record their sophomore album over the course of a year and battle personal drama along the way. Chris was cast as Simon, the band’s drummer who is attempting to control his temper while keeping his work family and biological family together. During its off-Broadway run, Stereophonic attracted sold-out crowds and rockers of the 1970s era, including James Taylor and Talking Heads’ David Byrne. The Broadway run of Stereophonic was just extended to January 5, 2025. It recently made history as the most Tony Award-nominated play ever, with 13 nominations. Last night, they were awarded Best Play, Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Scenic Design of a Play, and Best Sound Design of a Play! Congratulations, Chris! Once a Dragon, always a Dragon Chr #KnowledgeAndValuesForALifetime #SRES #SRESdragons #StRichards #SRESalum

  • Our students and teachers had a spectacular time in Paris for their French Back-to-Back trip! Some highlights include: • Visiting the Olympic Games presentation at the Hotel de Ville (Paris main town hall) • Going on a treasure hunt searching for the Olympic flame, which took our students throughout Paris as they read maps and decoded clues • Searching for the Statue of Archidamas, the disk thrower, in the Jardin du Luxembourg • Touring Givaudan, a company that creates perfumes for clients like Tom Ford, Coach, and Burberry • Participating in classes at Ecole d’Aujourd’hui And so much more. We are so thankful to the community at Ecole d’Aujourd’hui, who made this year’s Grade 5 French Back-to-Back experience so memorable! #KnowledgeAndValuesForALifetime #SRES #SRESdragons #StRichards #SRESback2back #SRESfrench #SRESgrade5 #FrenchBack2Back

  • At our recent Awards Day Ceremony, Senator Cyndi Carrasco bestowed Ms. Andrea Neal with a Sagamore of the Wabash on behalf of Governor Eric Holcomb. The Sagamore of the Wabash Award was established in the mid-1940s by then Gov. Gates and has been bestowed by governors as a personal tribute to those who have rendered a distinguished service to the state or the governor. The term “Sagamore” was used by Indiana’s first citizens, the Algonquin-language Delaware Tribe, to denote a tribal leader to whom the chief would seek wisdom and advice. Through high expectations, unwavering support, and a love for her students and content, Ms. Neal has ignited a passion for government, politics, law, history, writing, civics, and service in her students and her community. Perhaps the biggest impact Ms. Neal has had on the State of Indiana is her ability to encourage curiosity and dialogue and invite others to join her in learning about our great state and the choices we can make as citizens to continue being civically responsible leaders and global citizens. Congratulations to Ms. Andrea Neal on receiving a Sagamore of the Wabash! #KnowledgeAndValuesForALifetime #SRES #SRESdragons #StRichards #SRESfaculty

Director of Development & Major Gifts at St. Richard’s Episcopal School

I am thrilled to announce that we have doubled our fundraising revenue not once, but twice in the last two years. I am amazed by the generosity of the St. Richard's Episcopal School community. Together with Tara, our Board of Trustees, Foundation Board, leadership team, donors, faculty, and staff, we are fostering a culture of philanthropy within the school to promote equity in philanthropy and acknowledge all donors of time, talent, and treasure. We are expanding philanthropic opportunities for our donors and foresee numerous prospects for our team to expand. As a result of this growth, success, and the ongoing needs of our organization, we are in the process of hiring a Major Gifts Officer. • Eleven St. Richard's eighth graders won awards in the national Project POTUS competition sponsored by the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. The contest challenges students to prepare a one-minute video on the life and legacy of an American president. Each eighth grader chose a different president as part of Mrs. Neal's U.S. History class and produced videos using Canva online design tools after training from Mr. Bushey. Two of our SRES winners, Alanna C. (Thomas Jefferson) and Will S. (Benjamin Harrison), have advanced to the final round of judging and are eligible for several top prizes, including the Citizens Choice Award. Cast your ballot for either Alanna or Will by signing up at this link: https://lnkd.in/gdCF2G8e #KnowledgeAndValuesForALifetime #SRES #SRESdragons #SRESgrade8 #StRichards
