THE PROMISE OF MOLECULAR PROFILING & IMMUNOTHERAPY For those who have been diagnosed with cancer, you know the shock and fear that runs through your soul. Thousands of people hear those words every day. We're here to tell you that while there are no bright sides to a cancer diagnosis, there is hope. At St. Luke's, we've strongly embraced preventative strategies, molecular profiling through genetic, genomic, and germline testing, and the promise offered through immunotherapy. Dr. Stephenson, Director of St. Luke's Cancer and Infusion Center, said, "Every day, we learn more about how and when to manipulate the human immune system. The key is the timing of therapy and knowing when to re-engage the body's immune system." To create profile panels, we test nearly every St. Luke's Cancer & Infusion Center patient for molecular drivers. The importance of molecular diagnostics is the roadmap for treatment it provides. Molecular diagnostics dictate how aggressively we treat. The St. Luke's difference is we now personalize our therapies to address the considerable variants in each patient's environment, genetics, and habits to deliver individualized precision medicine. New Imaging for Women with Dense Breasts and High Risk CEM is the latest breast imaging technology that is helpful as a screening tool with women with dense breasts who are at high risk for developing breast cancer. THE INVISIBLE BECOMES VISIBLE For your patients, CEM delivers increased confidence similar to diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced breast MRI. It subtracts background breast parenchyma, allowing for regions of abnormal blood flow to be displayed. This procedure is faster and more comfortable than breast MRI, with less stress and lower noise levels. CEM enhances visualization and can uncover abnormalities obscured by dense background breast tissue, crucial to reducing missed and undiagnosed cancers. For your patients, this means earlier detection and more lives saved. If you have questions about this exam or need to speak with a Radiologist to determine if this exam is appropriate for a specific patient, please call 828-894-0850. For general questions, you may reach out to Debra Hill at 828-894-0855. StLukesNC.org/clarity
