    I think I'm going to change my title to hiring manager - lol. We have been interviewing for several new positions and for anyone looking for that next job, I have 3 tips of what you MUST do in order to close the deal. I know there are others, but for me, if you can't nail these, then I'm not confident you will nail the harder must have qualities. 1) Be on time. One to 3 minutes late for in-person or virtual may not seem like a big deal, but it is for me at least. I want someone who has good time management skills and who understands we are not on their schedule. I have a job. You are looking, so be on time and prepared. Accepting this as an employer will only make it easier for that 3 minutes to become a routine 30-60 minutes. 2) Know something about the people you want to work for or say you want to work for. If you don't know much about the organization or the people from at least going to their website, you are telling me you are just job jumping for money or title. These are the people who will complain about the work environment or people six months into their new job and begin looking to leave or put in their time and then leave. 3) Come prepared to ask questions about the job, the culture, members of the team, and yes, salary and benefits. Don't lead with your demands for salary. Don't leave an interview without asking at least 3 thoughtful questions about the job and the organization and its people. If in-person wow me by asking if you could meet some of the team while you are here. Ask me about the history of the organization, its culture, the opportunities. Ask me about our clients and what role you will play. Don't make your questions be all about how much time off do you get. Do you get to work remotely. Yes, important questions to ask, but we will address those in our introduction of who we are and the person we are looking to hire. Simple and commonsense, yes, but you will be surprised by how many don't even address any of these 3.
