Congrats to UnicornForms (StartEd ‘22) and Patrick Waldo (yai Grinnell College !) for making it into Capital Factory! #armyofedtech #funding #edtech #accelerator
This post has been in the making all week. I am very proud to announce my startup UnicornForms has been selected by the Capital Factory for its All Access fund! In short, we are on a mission to make paperwork frictionless. Over the next months, I am asking my network to join me in the journey. I'll be posting quite a bit more! I'm looking for connections with Angels, VCs, Customers and Talent. Happy to start a conversation. Just ping me. It's been a big leap of faith and there is a long, long journey ahead, but many hands and hearts have helped me along the way to get to this moment, so I want to share some gratitudes. Thank you to Jonathan Marcel for recruiting me! And thank you to everyone on the team: Audrey Haugh, Lyndon Lay, Morgan Odell, Kena Patel, Jamie Serio, CFA, Isabella Taylor, Oleksandra Torubara and Sam Zaugg. You have been amazing in the onboarding process! Thank you to Bryan Chambers, Nick Spiller, Kevin Landtroop and Drew Rice for wonderful dinner and conversation at Perry's. Thank you to Aaron Handwerker for taking the picture of me! Along the way, the Houston scene has lifted me up. Thank you to Oleg Lysiak 🇺🇦🚀 and Oleksandr Semeniuk at Honeycomb Software. Y'all. I have never worked with a dev shop that has made introductions like these guys. They were among the first to believe in me and this idea. Thank you to Jason W. Taylor, Raheel Malik and Ankeel Bhakta and everyone at CodeLaunch Accelerator! This is a special community that puts on the best pitch competition around for early stage startups. We were proud co-sponsors this year! Thank you to Ash Kaluarachchi and Kelly King and everyone at Started. You were among the first to hear my earliest pitches. I have come along way since "If your toaster can talk to your fridge, why can't two PDFs talk to each other?" I should make a greatest hits of my worst tag lines! Thank you to my mentors and advisors Steve Crocker, Newton Campbell Jr., Ph.D. and John Chory. You're in the pocket with me and get all the ups and downs. Thank you for your stewardship. Thank you to my Grinnell people! John Bohman, Jon Cell, Scott DeGeest, MBA PhD, Jordan Glaser, Marcela Gomez, Davis Hart, Grisel Hernandez, Robert Gehorsam, Sarah Labowitz, Hilary Mason, Austin Redman and Nat Zorach. Especially in the last couple of months you helped me hone the pitch that got me into the Capital Factory! You are proof that analytical minds can succeed and give me so much inspiration in your own journeys. I am apparently at my limit of mentions! I'll do some client kudos and highlights soon. Without you and your belief, we wouldn't have the traction to get here today. To my wife, family and friends, you are my world <3

Congrats to QuestRead (StartEd '23) for their win at Startup Runway Foundation, Inc.!
🎉 QuestRead won the audience choice award at the Startup Runway Foundation, Inc. pitch competition yesterday!! 🎉 This event was created to shine the spotlight on underrepresented founders, and I am thankful that organizations like this exist!! Only 2% of funding goes to women - so we need to spend even more time hustling, collaborating, and outperforming. Before the pitch competition, we participated in mock board meetings with mentors who helped us navigate a specific challenge. These conversations were productive and valuable, and I appreciate the folks who volunteered their time to meet with me. Nwanyinma Dike Ariel Lopez James Summer Martin Chaplin Nevindaree Premarathne
