Hiro Nishiguchi, President of Startup Genome Japan, was invited by Keidanren, Japan's largest and most influential business association, to discuss the Startup Genome Global Startup Ecosystem Report and Japan’s ecosystem growth potential at a joint meeting of Jeidanren’s Startup Committee and Planning Committee at the Keidanren Kaikan in Otemachi, Tokyo. At the meeting, Hiro shared insights into the evolution of Japan’s startup ecosystem, including Tokyo’s impressive jump of five places to #10 in the #GSER2024, driven by an increase in ecosystem value. In discussion with leaders of the Keidanren Committees, Hiro discussed areas of potential growth for Japan, such as strengthening a decentralized national ecosystem with a goal to have multiple Japanese cities in future Top 40 GSER rankings.
