Congratulations to Demetrius B. founder of Marro Technologies, part of the FORGE Crucible startup cohort, on expanding a tracking agent to include a new internal threat detection feature. "The feature, designed with a prominent U.S. Department of Defense contractor, detects unauthorized or potentially harmful app usage within businesses and government agencies. The company will provide defense contractors with early access to the tool and roll it out to enterprise-level clients in November, Bethea said. Marro Technologies was connected to a U.S. Department of Defense procurement officer while participating in the University of Arizona’s Crucible at FORGE, an 8-week accelerator program that helps startups prepare for investment. That connection led to a partnership with the Department of Defense contractor to help design Marro's threat detection tool, Bethea said." The Crucible program was made possible thanks to support from Singularity Capital, Flinn Foundation, Pima County Economic Development and UA Venture Capital. https://lnkd.in/ga59pcsK #FORGECrucible #TechStartups #StartupSuccess #ResearchInnovationImpact

It was fantastic to see the excitement at last week's info session for the Nopalito Network Yaqui-Tech Innovation Lab. Made possible through support from the University of Arizona, this program helps entrepreneurs expand their digital reach with no-code, web design training. FORGE is proud to help support the Yaqui-Tech Innovation Lab. Save the date for June 29th, for the graduation of the first cohort from this program.
So excited about Nopalito Network's amazing program team: Nicolette Gomez, Hilda Cortez, and Gayle Sueskind! We had a very successful info session this week on the Pascua Yaqui Tribe reservation for the Yaqui-Tech Innovation Lab, a four-week, no-code web design program for Pascua Yaqui entrepreneurs. Offers for places on the program go out this week! Class starts on Tuesday! Special shoutout to Arizona FORGE, Native American Advancement & Tribal Engagement, and the Pascua Yaqui Economic Development Department for their support! Stay tuned to meet the first cohort of this pilot program, where there will be even more exclamation marks!

“I think it's uniting students, faculty, alumni and the local community in support of student entrepreneurship,” she said. “I think you have to be really brave to be an entrepreneur. It's not easy." FORGE Venture Development Education Coordinator Julie Barbier Bularzik spoke with Elvia Verdugo and Arizona Daily Star about the Student-Made Arizona online marketplace for students and by students. Entrepreneurial wildcats can apply now as student creators, or join the operations team as campus, website, events, partnership, community engagement, and finance managers. They will be part of a network of colleges across the country and will receive personal support from Arizona FORGE and Student-Made Store.
