About us

In July 2024, Capital Factory, in partnership with the City of Washington, DC, launched STATION DC — a desperately needed tech hub designed to foster collaboration between innovators and policymakers in the heart of the nation’s capital. STATION DC will supercharge the DC innovation scene and provide a place for frontier tech leaders from around the country to gather and engage with federal, regional, and local decision makers in preparing for coming disruptions. By creating a collaborative environment modeled after Capital Factory’s successful approach in Austin, Texas, STATION DC will offer mentorship, connections, and a collaborative space where the newest innovators and dreamers can engage directly with leaders and each other. STATION DC will open a physical hub for hosting headlining programs, high-level gatherings, and the launch of novel technologies; educate policymakers; and foster an ecosystem of public-private partnerships. Estimated to open in 2025 in Union Market District, the hub aims to accelerate technological progress and shape the future responsibly and effectively.

Last night in Union Market District, Station DC and Steve Clemons hosted a thought-provoking dinner, bringing together the brightest minds in tech, venture capital, national security, and policymaking. Attendees tackled tough questions about aligning incentives, adapting to rapid changes, and shaping policy to maintain U.S. leadership in critical tech. The discussion centered around three critical themes: U.S. Competitiveness & Innovation Strategies for long-term leadership in chip manufacturing, balancing economic and national security in the global tech race. Public-Private Collaboration Fostering partnerships to drive innovation, secure supply chains, and develop creative funding solutions for R&D. Future-Proofing the Industry Addressing workforce development, IP protection, and the potential impact of "CHIPS 2.0" on the semiconductor landscape. One thing was clear: the intersection of technology, policy, and national security is more crucial than ever. As a hub for tech innovation in DC, Station DC is committed to facilitating these vital conversations and connections. Huge thanks to all our attendees for their invaluable insights. This is just the beginning – stay tuned for more events that push the boundaries of tech and policy.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 🚀 Tuesday marked the launch of Station DC at Union Market District with a crowd of people who believe in this city as a home for frontier tech. We would not be here today without the support of DC Council members Phil Mendelson, Kenyan McDuffie and Zachary Parker (and special thanks to Kenyan for welcoming and introducing us to our future home!). ✨ cc: EDENS, Capital Factory, Washington Office
