On World Mental Health Day, we celebrate our community of Wellbeing Champions around the world. These leaders commit to help employees engage with available support programs and resources and identify where gaps exist. In Mexico, our team has joined a coalition of organizations to form the Network for Mental Health, Monterrey chapter. Their goal is to reduce the stigma for people seeking mental health services in the business community. Alexandra Inclan, managing director of our Monterrey Business Center shares, “Mental health is a highly relevant topic in our community and a stigmatized topic in our country. But we are convinced our business can contribute in a positive way to bring mental health to light. Lippan handicraft is a traditional art from the desert regions of India. Inspired by the natural flora and fauna of states such as Rajasthan and Gujarat, the handcrafted objects often feature colorful patterns and motifs from the region. As a welcoming gesture for Sara Armbruster's trip to India, the Steelcase Pune “Women of Steel” team came together to create Lippan art with materials sourced locally. Over two fun-filled days and one failed attempt, the final completed piece was hand-carried from Pune to Bangalore by Priti Patil. We are really pleased to present this to Sara in person during her visit to India and we continue to celebrate our "Women of Steel” program. Gifting Lippan art transcends mere material exchange; it embodies cultural appreciation, fosters personal connection, and carries profound symbolic meanings. Through this gift, Women of Steel expresses wishes for the recipient's prosperity, happiness, and positivity in their life journey. It symbolizes not only the beauty of art but also the empowerment and community spirit that resonates deeply with the ethos of Women of Steel.
