Our mission: Provide protection in times of prosperity, security in times of uncertainty, and comfort in times of crisis

About us

We refuse to use a “cookie cutter,” one-size-fits-all approach to legal planning. At Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, no two plans are ever the same, because no person or family's goals are ever exactly the same. Every client is offered a written plan — a road map that will guide them as they move forward in their Estate and Long-Term Care planning, or with their Wealth Protection or Business Succession planning. Every plan we write starts from scratch, handcrafted page by page to meet your specific legal needs and goals. Our attorneys make sure each step of your planning is relevant and makes legal sense for you. Each document supports your goals and protects you as intended, nothing less. At Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, we ensure that you get the most effective administration of your estate by guiding you through the probate process and effectively administering the estate so that every opportunity for preserving value for future distribution is presented. We educate ourselves to have a keen understanding of the probate and tax laws to best fit your needs. If you need help in administering an estate, contact Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak at 800-351-8334. We are your elder care and special needs law firm. Protection in times of prosperity, security in times of uncertainty, and comfort in times of crisis. Quality representation and litigation. • We had an opportunity to participate in the Caring Hearts of Wyoming Valley's third annual Senior Resource Fair held at Mohegan Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre last week. Representing the firm were Attorney Stacey Acri and director of marketing & business development Matt Beltz. This annual event brings together multiple vendors that work in various senior services industries in a single location for senior to come and explore the various services available to them. Stacey had an opportunity to get some instruction in hands-only CPR courtesy of the American Heart Association - Pennsylvania. This was our first Caring Hearts' Senior Resource Fair, as last year's edition was held about a week after our Wilkes-Barre office opened. We look forward to participating again in the future. Thanks to everyone with the Caring Hearts that helped plan this major event and to all seniors from NEPA that attended.

  • Meet long-term care planner, Sydney Telesky! She's been with us for a little over a year and a half - starting as an intern and joining us full-time after she graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Her favorite part of her job is physically meeting with clients and creating relationships with them during review appointments, ICs, etc. A fun fact about Sydney: she's a certified scuba-diver! When asked who her inspirations at the firm are, Sydney had the following to say: "My biggest inspirations are tied across three people within the firm: Attorney Eckrote, Attorney Steinbacher, and long-term care planner Tammy Zilske. Attorney Eckrote and I work directly alongside each other. She graduated from law school and became an associate attorney with SGY prior to turning 24, which is incredibly impressive for a young adult. I respect her work ethic, team spirit, and continuous growth as an attorney and as a direct coworker. Attorney Eckrote never fails to assist our department in any way she can. Attorney Steinbacher goes without saying as an inspiration. The extensive list of things she has accomplished thus far is one of the most inspirational things I have come across; it seems like I learn of another accomplishment of hers daily. As a young woman, my respect for Attorney Steinbacher’s accomplishments, knowledge, and experience, is extremely difficult to match. Long-term care planner Tammy Zilske took me under her wing as an intern after expressing my interest in what she does daily for our clients. She was patient with my questions and taught me all the basics to grow off of. Tammy’s knowledge in Medicaid planning cannot be matched. Her 17+ years of experience in this continuously changing field has made her the most knowledgeable individual I know regarding the ins and outs of Medicaid planning." A quote from Attorney Eckrote on working with Sydney: "Sydney is an incredibly hard worker. She’s very detail oriented and she’s great with the clients. I’m really glad to work alongside her on all of our files - we make a great team!"

  • Last week, Attorney Landon Hodges and long-term care planner Kristin Daugherty were guests on Studio 814 on WTAJ-TV and talked about how Landon and Attorney Jenna Franks recently became Certified Elder Law Attorneys, giving us four CELAs total at the firm - the second-most of any law firm in Pennsylvania - and what that means for our clients going forward. https://lnkd.in/ejtVURt3

  • For the second straight year, it was a wet day, but that still didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit as we participated in the annual Lycoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The Walks are the Alzheimer's Association®’s largest fundraiser of the year, and we were once again a sponsor as we do our part to contribute to the fight to #endalz Attending from the firm were director of marketing & business development Matt Beltz, who served as the committee chair of this years Walk, Attorney Landon Hodges (with daughter Eve) and executive director Sarah Kehres. Seminar & communications manager Kyle Hetner also stopped by but not in time for the picture. We look forward to also participating in the Walks in State College and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in October. #ENDALZ #EndAlzheimers #EndAlzheimersDisease

Isn't this an appropriate depiction of this time of year when it's officially fall but still feels like summer during the day? Happy first fall #lightheartedFriday of the year! We'll be at the Lycoming County Walk to End Alzheimer’s tomorrow morning at Indian Park in Montoursville. Anyone is invited to stop by, check out our table and those of other sponsors, and see how they can get involved in the fight to end Alzheimer's. And if you're looking for more information on Alzheimer's or other Dementia, the Alzheimer's Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter is full of great resources, and we have several videos and podcasts of our own that you can check out as well. • Meet elder care navigator Briella Schall, who's been with us for two and a half years! Her favorite part of the job is assisting our clients and their loved ones as they navigate through their dementia journey. A fun fact about Briella is she loves coffee! Briella's inspirations are plentiful, as she explains: "Jenna, Julie, Landon, and Kristin. They all show incredible leadership! They truly care about their staff, and always encourage everyone to grow and educate themselves."  A quote from Kristin Daugherty on working alongside Briella: "Briella is a natural in her position as an elder care navigator. You do not find many people who are as genuinely caring, compassionate, and who truly want to make a difference every single day. Briella’s role can be tedious – but she never shies away from a hard situation and always gives 110% to help advocate for our clients and their families.''
