🌍 Investing in Your Future 🌍 New equipment alert! We are investing in our business to drive even better results for yours. What does this mean for you? ✅ Speed and Quality Volatile Organic Analysis (VOA): We’ve nearly doubled our VOA instrumentation, allowing us to process 70% more samples, with a specific focus on soil, groundwater, and low-level analysis (including 1,4-Dioxane). Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS): We brought additional LC-MS/MS online to further expand our PFAS testing capabilities. More equipment provides redundancies and increased capacity to support the rapidly growing demand for these forever chemicals. Semi-Volatile Organics, Pesticides, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), and Hydrocarbon: Our new Gas Chromatograph (GC) instruments allow us to perform further analysis, deepening our commitment to servicing our environmental customers with enhanced precision and timing. ✅ Lab Expansion and Redesign: Restructuring our laboratory footprint and approach to organic preparation, we can now expedite sample processing to get your samples on instrument as quickly as possible for analysis. #pfasfree #environment #esgreporting #esg #esgdata #watertesting #soiltesting #toxicfree #sustainability

What To Know About EPA Draft Method 1633 Historically, testing for PFAS has been focused on finding these “forever chemicals” using EPA methods originally intended for drinking water. EPA Draft Method 1633 nearing completion is significant because it expands beyond drinking water and tests 40 compounds across both soil and water matrices including: wastewater, surface water, groundwater, soil, biosolids, sediment, landfill leachate, and fish tissue. A final version of Method 1633 would likely replace the 537 modified drinking water method that is currently being applied to soil, groundwater and wastewater matrices. Once finalized by the EPA, the method can be used for many new purposes, including National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and wastewater effluent permits containing the required quality control (QC) procedures for the Clean Water Act (CWA) as well as used under other national and state regulatory programs. The US Department of Defense (DoD) memo issued in August states “For definitive analysis of matrices other than drinking water, the DoD components will use Draft Method 1633…”, further emphasizing the industry shift to this method for definitive and defensible PFAS data. Sterling Labs was the first Illinois-based laboratory to gain accreditation for EPA Draft Method 1633 with the US Department of Defense for all 40 PFAS compounds in water and solid matrices. Given our extensive experience with the draft method, we are sufficiently prepared to act when the method becomes finalized and in use by the US EPA. #pfastesting #foreverchemicals #drinkingwater #wastewater #soil #groundwater #sediment #environment #environmentaltesting
