With the historic flooding occurring in the Midwest, the need for flood insurance in cases of severe weather is more evident than ever. According to Little Rock-based Partner, Jimbo Ramsay: "Many clients purchase flood insurance due to lender requirements. Banks will mandate the coverage based on property location and flood zone. However, with the change in weather patterns in our region, we are seeing more flood related claims and encourage our clients to consider that coverage option even if there is no lender on their property."

To honor Juneteenth this year, we held a lunch and learn covering the history of Juneteenth and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). We heard from a panel of SSP employees who attended an HBCU, each sharing what their experience was like, and why HBCUs are important to furthering education on African American history and fostering culture.
